New premises offer Manbat room for growth
After 13 years at its current headquarters in Shrewsbury, Manbat has moved to a substantially larger site. The shift to a new headquarters has seen the UK’s largest battery distributor move a full 500 yards along Lancaster Road; Manbat says the new side provides sufficient room for its ongoing expansion plans.
Commenting on the move, managing director Steve Sheppard said: “Manbat’s prime concern has always been to enable our customers to sell more batteries and maintain their margins in the process. Part of that ethos is a commitment to examine, and were necessary, improve our internal procedures, in order to further support our customers. The move into a new head office and distribution centre is latest element of this ongoing plan.
“The new 31,000 square foot facility has been laid out with the efficient delivery, storage and despatch of goods at the forefront of its design. So as a result, we are now able to provide an even more coordinated and effective service to our many customers,” Sheppard added. “It was also important for us to find a site close to our former premises because staff continuity is another significant factor. Retaining valuable staff with good product knowledge and maintaining the established relationships that we have with our customers is part of the process and we believe that for our customers, a seamless transfer has been achieved.”
