Maxxis capitalises on positive motorcycle reviews
Following recent positive reviews in the consumer press, Maxxis has announced that it is showcasing its latest range of motorcycle tyres, including its new sports touring radial, the MA-3DS Supermaxx Diamond, in a special supplement in leading consumer motorcycling magazine MCN.
Bruce Wilson of Motorcycle Monthly said the brand’s MA-3DS Supermaxx Diamond showed impressive levels of grip: “I had the bike decking out through the corners while the tyres took all the abuse I could throw at them.” Jon Urry of RIDE said: “the Maxxis tyre performed at least as well as Bridgestone BT-023s or Dunlop Roadsmarts, yet do so at a saving of around £60”. Bruce Dunn of Bike magazine described the Maxxis Supermaxx Touring as having such good stability that it was “one of the most secure-feeling on test.”
The MCN supplement also includes reviews of Maxxis motorcycle tyres by other leading industry commentators. John ‘Geraint’ Hughes, motorcycle examiner with the Institute of Advanced Motorists, said the Supermaxx Diamond’s tread “allowed more flexibility and control when negotiating corners and bends, with no cause to question their ability to hold the road no matter what the road surface or weather conditions”. Dick Cassidy, Isle of Man TT chief travelling marshal, said of the Supermaxx Sport “[It] didn’t move or slide, even on Sulby Straight at 187mph the Maxxis tyres were rock steady”.
“We’ve received some excellent feedback on the latest generation of Maxxis motorcycle tyres from recent tests and are using the supplement in MCN, which has established itself over the past 50 years as the place to find out about motorcycling, to provide marketing support to our dealers while also building brand awareness among consumers,” says Maxxis International UK’s managing director Derek McMartin.
The Maxxis motorcycle range incorporates sports, touring, adventure and motocross tyres, and the brand is fitted as OE on Piaggio, Gilera, Yamaha, Malaguti, Sym, Kymco, Peugeot and Aprilia scooters.
