IBM software to help Conti sites collaborate more closely
German tyre maker Continental intends to optimise the way in which its 190 locations in 39 countries around the world work together with each other. To achieve this, the company will draw upon solutions from IBM in Germany, utilising its ‘Connections’ and ‘OmniFind’ software in order to respond to unforeseen events with greater flexibility and to take advantage of new business opportunities.
The automotive supplier, reports IBM, decided upon the solution it offered due to its user-friendliness and intuitive operability. “Our ‘Collaboration’ tools from the IBM Connections portfolio encompass member profiles, blogs, wikis, communities, chat, conferencing, search function and many more applications that Continental can in future use to increase its agility in communication and collaborative work,” commented Marcus Pannier, business unit executive for the IBM Software Group in Germany. “To this effect, IBM can from its own user perspective deliver value-added stimuli into numerous business areas – such as for development, purchasing or human resource management. We look forward to the upcoming implantation phase and further dialogue with Continental, which in turn holds the promise of new ideas for further development.”
