Federal delivers first Canadian winter tyre shipment
Taiwanese manufacturer Federal has announced that it has made the first shipment of its Himalaya WS2 winter tyre to Canada. The tyre, available in six sizes – 175/65R15, 195/65R15, 215/60R16, 205/55R16, 215/65R16 and 215/45R17 – is manufactured at its Jiang Xi Tires (JFT) plant in China. The shipment was purchased in March by Vancouver’s Uniwell International Enterprises Corp., and will be arriving at its warehouse in Canada on schedule by the end of July, according to Federal’s Global Sales Division director, Henry Lin: “We are very happy as the major trading company Uniwell International Enterprises Corp has made significant contribution to the wintry development.
“In addition, we feel extremely confident of our ability to provide an innovative product like this one especially under harsh icy conditions. Our main goal has always been and forever will be to satisfy the demands of our customers all around the world in quality, service and price.”
Uniwell has many years of experience in serving the needs of independent tyre dealers across Canada. Federal aligned in partnership with the distributor four years ago in 2007, with tyres shipped to Canada including the 595 competition tyre, the Couragia Adventure M/T, and the SS657 touring tyre. Federal says its monthly export volume of the Himalaya WS2 has been much greater than expected, while container orders have “steadily achieved” annually.
The Himalaya WS2 bears the Alpine symbol and M+S marking, while North American Rubber Manufacturers’ tests have verified the tyre’s suitability, giving it an SSS (Severe Snow Service) rating. Sizes are available in studdable and studless versions.
