Bridgestone: Wheel security training scheme a success
Bridgestone UK has been offering training programmes to service providers, and more recently its customer technicians, across a wide variety of high-interest topics for several years. More recently the tyre manufacturer has been assessed by the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) for its ‘Wheel Security Training Course’ and is said to have passed with flying colours.
The bespoke training assessment took place whilst the course was being delivered to Redfern Travel, a well-established coach tour company based in Nottinghamshire. Scott Johnson, engineering director at Redfern Travel, who also sat in on the training, commented: “The training was a real success, and all our technicians who attended gave positive feedback. We feel we have really benefitted from the knowledge and awareness that the course has provided.”
Phil Thirsk, technical training manger for Bridgestone UK, commented: “Wheel security is the top priority for any vehicle operator, which is why we deliver a course directly to our customers as well as service providers. It’s fantastic that the course now has the backing of the IRTE – it really makes it more rewarding for all attendees.”
