Stapleton’s offering cross-segment high performance
Wholesaler Stapleton’s offers high performance tyres from premium to budget brands, with the aim of providing a tyre for every car on the market. “With HP tyres, as with every other type, we’re steered by what our customers tell us they want: and that’s the total assurance that we’ve got every fitment imaginable available from stock – and at prices to suit every budget too,” says Stephen Childs, head of marketing & range planning. The wholesaler says it has a “proliferation of excellent products in the mid-range and budget sectors”, showing that high performance… tyres “are no longer the preserve of the wealthy end of the market spectrum”. Stapleton’s argues that it “tacitly acknowledges that quality and performance are for all of its customers at affordable prices and not just for the select few”.
Backing up that assurance is a recently expanded network of nine warehouses, seven distribution points, the ProfitLink online ordering system and a 275 strong delivery fleet offering twice-daily, same-day and next-day services nationwide. “Our incomparable stockholding is important, of course, but I don’t think that’s the only reason our customers voted us number one wholesaler last year – it was also because they can see that we listen to them and genuinely strive to deliver their requirements,” said trading director Steve Parker. “One example of that has been our negotiations with some of the world’s leading mid-range and budget manufacturers of HP and UHP tyres, through which we’ve secured exclusive deals that ensure we can supply the right HP/UHP tyre for our customers at every price point through our private brands.”
In addition to the big premium names, Stapleton’s publicises “competitively priced high performance tyres” from its exclusive and private brands: Kleber, Matador, Prestivo , Nexen, Primewell, Capitol and Event for example. Michelin’s Kleber offers the Hydraxer range with sizes 15 to 18 inches. Conti’s Matador brand makes its MP46 16 to 20 inch range exclusive to Stapleton’s in the UK. Other mid-range brands include Prestivo, which has recently made a sizeable investment in brand development to create the 3000 and Sport 8000 series, Primewell, whose PZ900 tyre is available from 15 to 20 inches, and Nexen, which the wholesaler describes as a “UHP specialist” with 140 sizes across seven patterns.
The wholesaler offers Key Dealer Programmes on the Kleber, Prestivo, Primewell and Nexen ranges where member retailers can look forward to exclusive access to their range together with attractive rewards and discounts.
