Pakistan sales champion Panther aiming to improve exports
Under the leadership of Mian Iftikhar Ahmed, the dedicated team Mian Tyre & Rubber Company Limited (MTRCL), which sells the Panther brand of tyres, has won the Pakistan export trophy for the last eight consecutive years. Now, the flagship business of Iftikhar Group of Companies, a leading tyre and tube manufacturing group in Pakistan is aiming to increase exports still further. According to the company, the Panther trade name has developed a reputation of “excellence in domestic and export marketplace.” The firm supplies tyres and tubes for tractors, threshers, fork lifts, jeeps, motorcycles, scooters, rickshaws, cycles and trolleys.
Founded in 1983, MTRCL representatives told Tyres & Accessories that the company has been leading the way in the discipline of tyres and tubes manufacturing in Pakistan ever since. The company has a strong presence all over Pakistan with a network of tyre and tube distributors and dealers in all major cities. “We are major supplier’s to all leading OEMs of two-wheel, Three-wheel and Four-wheel especially Farm sector,” sales manager Pervez Aslam Khan explained, adding:
“We have contributed to make Pakistan self-sufficient in tyres and tubes. Panther is the market leader in motorcycle, two wheelers, Rickshaw, three wheeler tyres and tubes. We also enjoy a sizeable share in the four-wheel market especially the farm sector.
Panther tyres and tubes as OE
MTRCL is the largest tube manufacturer in Pakistan catering to the needs of motorcycles, including foreign joint ventures that are also using Panther tyres and tubes. This means vehicles in the rickshaw, LTV, car, truck, bus and tractor segments Similarly, leading tractor manufacturers and assemblers in Pakistan are said to use Panther products.
One segment the firm is particularly strong in is the trolley market. According to the company, Panther trolley tyres and tubes occupy a 70 per cent market share in Pakistan. In addition “a major part” of the manufacturers output is said to beexported to Europe and Africa.
MTRCL reports that it is “constantly adding contemporary lines and expanding its business with top focus on further developing of tyres passenger car, light truck, medium truck, off the road.” This reflects what the company describes as its “forward looking strategy of continuously improving customer value through improvement in quality and productivity.” The group is said to be determined to continue its quest for quality and maintain leadership.
