Marangoni expands Benelux presence with Profile Tyrecenter deal
Following several years of having what it calls a ‘marginal presence’, Marangoni Retreading Systems has announced its return to the Dutch and Belgian markets. This Benelux comeback comes courtesy of a partnership with tyre reseller and fast-fit chain Profile Tyrecenter. Marangoni states it will now expand its business in co-operation with what is the largest local tyre fitting network in these two markets; under the agreement, Profile Tyrecenter takes on exclusive management of the Ringtread brand in the Benelux. The Ringtread tyres distributed there will be manufactured by Dutch retreader Frapa, a founding Profile Tyrecenter member.
Profile Tyrecenter is a franchise organisation of independent tyre dealers in the Benelux, with franchise members acting as shareholders of the central Profile Tyrecenter organisation. The organisation operates more than 200 sales points throughout the Benelux region, along with 300 mobile service units. Profile Tyrecenter also belongs to TEN (Tyre European Network), an outfit which is represented in 14 countries and boasts a network of more than 3,400 sales points.
Commenting on the partnership, René Van Maasakkers, director of Profile Tyrecenter Truck Europe, commented that “the partnership with Marangoni Retreading Systems was established not only out of the desire to maintain our independence – something that’s essential to guarantee balance in our relationships with new tyre manufacturers – but also the possibility to offer users a product that’s exclusive and of the highest quality, using state-of-the-art Ringtread technology.”
Venlo-based Frapa, who has four decades’ retreading experience, said the partnership with Marangoni “will provide our customers the best that retreading has to offer: Ringtread is the only circular retread. It adheres perfectly to the tyre casing, without joints and any tension or deformation, while ensuring faster processing, less waste, and performance that’s the same if not better than offered by a new tyre.”
Marangoni reports that logistics company DSV has already signed a contract with Profile Tyrecenter Truck Europe to use Ringtread products in the Benelux.
