Hofmann urges fitters to seize high performance “opportunity”
Chris Behan, Hofmann’s general manager, argues that investing in the right garage equipment can help tyre shops make the most of the high performance market: “There’s no doubt that the high performance market presents an excellent business opportunity, providing workshops are properly equipped and technicians are effectively trained to handle high performance tyre safely and confidently. After all, we’ve all heard horror stories about damage caused to expensive large diameter wheel rims or tyre pressure sensors when changing high performance tyres, which have cost businesses money and harmed their reputations, let alone the confidence of tyre fitters.”
Hofmann aims to remove this potential headache with machines such as its new lever-less monty 3300 racing AT plus semi-automatic tyre change, purpose designed for the gentle and user-friendly mounting and demounting of high performance tyres. It has an outer clamping range of up to 24 inches and is third-party certified by WDK, the Association of the German Rubber Industry, for the safe mounting and demounting of high performance, as well as run-flat tyres.
Hofmann also suggests the provision of nitrogen inflation for the life of the tyres to take advantage of the high performance tyre opportunity. Behan says the Hofmann N2 Generator “can help workshops add value for their customers and build retention and loyalty by offering a new service… Investing in the right equipment can undoubtedly make the difference.”
