Heuver launches Athlete private wheel brand

At the start of June, Heuver Tyrewholesale began acting as exclusive European distributor for a new private label, the Athlete Wheels truck range. The Chinese-produced brand is initially available in a number of high-demand sizes, such as from 6.75×17.5 to 14.00×22.5-inch, with truck and trailer wheels available for delivery from stock. Company director Bertus Heuver states that further sizes will be introduced during the course of the year. In all, 500 different designs are produced at the factory where Athlete Wheels are produced, a total of ten million units per annum. All Athlete steel wheels are TÜV approved and are ISO9001 certified.

“Through our presence in China, we came into contact with the wheel manufacturer,” commented Bertus Heuver. “After intense discussions, we can proudly announce to you that we have realised a private label together with the wheel manufacturer: Athlete Wheels. We have put together a complete range of Athlete Wheels where we have included all common truck wheels in our range. As an exclusive brand for Heuver, Athlete Wheels delivers a huge range of modern wheels that meet the high demands of the TÜV. Moreover, because of their scale, they are capable of developing and implementing significant innovations.”

Bertus Heuver elaborates on a key feature of the new range: “Athlete is going to use a new production method. As a result the steel wheels will be 15 to 20 per cent lighter. Thanks to this process, a 9.00×22.5 wheel will weigh about nine kilos less, without compromising strength. It is not difficult to imagine what that means in terms of fuel savings.”
