Goodyear Dunlop orders Transense equipment for FOS
Transense has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Translogik Limited recently took a further order for “a number” of Truck Tyre Inspection Kits from Goodyear Dunlop for its FOS (Fleet Online Solution) Mobile programme. This relationship began 18 months ago when Goodyear Dunlop began integrating the Translogik tyre inspection probe to work with its FOS system.
The FOS Mobile solution allows fleet operators to gather real-time tyre data from its technicians and field service engineers using the Translogik inspection tools. This data is then wirelessly transmitted back to the FOS servers, providing operators and account managers with instant access to tyre fleet data. Having accurate and reliable data on tyre wear and pressure provides early warning of under-inflation or poor tyre fitment which is the primary cause of roadside breakdowns and premature wearing, enabling early intervention and prevention – saving time and money.
Stuart Budden, technical support manager for Goodyear Dunlop commented: “The FOS Mobile project continues to grow and we have been delighted with the performance of the Translogik inspection tools out in the field. Subsequent to the initial UK rollout, the system is now being used by more than 100 operators across Europe; we expect this number to more than double this year”.
Graham Storey, CEO of Translogik commented: “We have enjoyed working in partnership with Goodyear Dunlop to deliver Europe’s finest mobile fleet inspection system. The combination of highly professional fleet maintenance staff and cutting-edge wireless inspection technology has enabled the FOS Mobile System to deliver a significant increase in the quality of customer service. A rapid return on investment has been achieved through the improved inspection process, leading to fewer roadside breakdowns and a reduction in tyre expenditure”.
