‘Fairy Jobmother’ finds former dancer work with ATS Euromaster
Channel Four reality television show The Fairy Jobmother will feature a 24-year-old former professional wrestler and dancer from Birmingham now working for ATS Euromaster this evening (21 June). Sarah Baker, who has danced at the National Indoor Arena and acted at the New Alexander Theatre is now a full member of the Customer Response Team at the head office of tyre company ATS Euromaster in Aston, thanks to the Jobmother herself, Hayley Taylor, who helps people to find work on the show.
Baker’s appearance on the show came about after she was stopped by one of the show’s producers when handing out CVs near Burmingham’s Bullring. She studied performing arts, child care and computing at college, and had changed jobs 15 times since leaving school. During filming, Baker was interviewed by three companies and offered jobs by two, accepting a position at ATS Euromaster in April.
Her work centres on ATS Euromaster’s commercial vehicle fleet customers, where the company provides a full support service. Baker is one of the team that takes down details of the location and the nature of the problem, directing the nearest crew to the customer: “My team leader, Shaf, has been really helpful and I enjoy it,” she said. “You have to be diplomatic and understanding – particularly if a customer is stuck somewhere holding up the traffic with a puncture. That’s a stressful situation and you have to understand that but we can get crews to them pretty quickly in most cases.”
Martyn Pointer, sales director – Regional Sales at ATS Euromaster, said: “Being involved in The Fairy Jobmother was a good experience for us as a company and we thoroughly approve of TV being used in such a positive way. Sarah has been an excellent recruit. Perhaps it is her performance background but she is charming with people, understood the requirement very quickly and is rapidly becoming a highly valued member of the team.”
