Auto Express recommends summer and winter tyres to boost car value
UK car magazine Auto Express has suggested that fitting high-quality tyres can help to improve the value of readers’ cars, suggesting three tyres for summer and winter. The magazine awarded the Continental SportContact 3 top summer tyre, and the Goodyear UltraGrip 7+ was victorious in the cold weather tyre category. Issue 1,169 of the magazine, currently on shelves, also recommended the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric in the former category, and Conti’s WinterContact TS830 and Dunlop’s SP WinterSport 3D as cold weather alternatives. The summer tyres were tested on 18" and the cold weather products on 16" fitments.
Having picked up three of the six recommendations Goodyear Dunlop’s brand manager Michelle Fisher said: “We were elated to pick up the Auto Express Product Award 2011 for Best Cold Weather Tyre. The award really endorses the safety credentials of our product as well as proving to motorists that Goodyear offers top performance in the Cold Weather Tyre market.” All three of the recommended Goodyear Dunlop tyres have recently announced new generation products, which the manufacturer says improve on the characteristics of these highly rated tyres. Continental too launched the SportContact 5 early in 2011. Coverage of the launches of Goodyear’s Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 and UltraGrip 8 and the Dunlop SP WinterSport 4D, as well as the Continental and Michelin tyres mentioned, can be found on tyrepress.com.
