ANRPC: no revisions to 9.936 million tonne 2011 supply estimate
As of June 24, 2011, the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries has clarified that it expects a 4.9 per cent rise in the total supply of natural rubber for 2011. The Association estimated that 9.936 million tonnes will be produced this year. It issued a statement to rebuff reports that the ANRPC has quoted different figures.
The Association’s statement said it “has not made any revision in the estimates and forecasts released on 26 May through Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics for the month of May 2011… This clarification is in the context of a report appeared in a business daily yesterday quoting different figures and claiming to be the latest from the ANRPC. ANRPC’s bulletin for June will be released only on 28 of the month.”
