TPMS, Omitec’s OmiCheck has it covered
Garage technology firm Omitec is promoting its latest TPMS-orientated range. According to the company, OmiCheck Service from Omitec carries the TPMS function and enables registration or re-registration of tyre pressure monitoring valves on the vehicle ECU’s. Company representatives say that the Tyre Pressure Monitoring application is “a must for anybody who removes wheels from a vehicle.” This TPMS application is designed to register a new valve or re-register the location of a wheel should it be moved from front to rear and detect when there is a tyre pressure monitoring system fault or when the valve itself needs replacing.
Other OmiCheck Applications include; ABS, which allows the user to read and clear ABS faults codes. SRS Airbag and Climate Control are both great for bodyshop and workshop use in reading and clearing fault codes. In addition the Electronic Park Brake (EPB) application has been designed to release the brake callipers whilst replacing brake pads on selected vehicles with electronic handbrakes. The EOBD application allows important emission data to be monitored, fault codes to be cleared, and has the advantage of a comprehensive fault code library. The Service Reset application allows the all important service level indicator on the dashboard to be reset. The resetting of the Steering Angle Sensor is important to ensure the vehicle drives in a straight line once the “tracking” has been checked.
The OmiCheck Service is fully upgradable to OmiCheck Professional, which is a full diagnostic tool covering in depth applications and manufacturer specific fault diagnosis. The OmiCheck Service and the OmiCheck Professional both have the advantage of never switching off.
