Notts logistics firm signs ATS-E supply and service agreement

Automotive logistics firm Blue Dragon Transport has appointed ATS Euromaster to supply and service tyres across its fleet of 20 trucks and 28 trailers. The Nottinghamshire company ended its previous agreement with a local supplier after ATS Euromaster offered to carry out a free fleet inspection and highlight issues it thought might be affecting its tyre budget. ATS-E considered the company’s “lack of brand consistency was contributing to unpredictable fluctuations in tyre expenditure”.

Having calculated the fleet’s typical annual mileages and exact requirements, ATS-E recommended a joint Taurus and Hankook fitment policy and comprehensive tyre-servicing agreement. With the policy designed to improve value and increase cost control, the tyre specialist explained a servicing agreement would also enable a reduction in downtime and repair costs.

Blue Dragon Transport Manager Eddie Whitehead said: “With the price of rubber and fuel constantly rising, ATS Euromaster’s offer of a policy that would help us manage fleet expenditure was more than welcome. We weren’t aware what a difference adhering to a clearly defined brand policy would make, but when ATS Euromaster drew up a projected annual plan and presented it to us, we realised it could help us achieve significant savings.

“We were equally impressed by the tyre-servicing contract they offered us, which covers everything from routine inspections to breakdowns,” he adds. The agreement sees the fleet’s tyres inspected each fortnight, with pressures checked monthly.

Repairs and replacements are carried out on-site by ATS Euromaster’s mobile fitment team, which is the largest of its type in the UK, and tyre-related breakdowns are covered by the company’s 24/7 nationwide rapid-response fleet. Established in 2000, Blue Dragon Transport moves a wide range of cars and vans for manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and consumers. Each vehicle on its fleet covers an average of 120,000 km annually, reaching customers across the UK.
