Maxxis industrial range developing with dockside freight popularity
Maxxis has developed a range of skid steer tyres designed to cope with varied heavy duty industrial applications safely and efficiently, including construction, agriculture and dockside freight, the latter of which is identified by the brand as a particularly fruitful area for spreading its popularity. “Our industrial tyres feature a specially formulated durable rubber compound, extra strong casings and robust sidewalls to deliver superior traction and long life when put to work in the most demanding applications,” says Maxxis International UK’s managing director Derek McMartin. “Their versatility is proving popular with dockside freight businesses, which is helping us to promote the Maxxis brand in this niche marketplace.”
Maxxis has developed two tyres in the segment: the M8000 Tuff-Guard and the M9000 MT Loader. Available in a full range of sizes up to 12.00-20 the M8000 Tuff-Guard is designed for a variety of extra heavy duty applications, including excavation. Maxxis says it has an extra-durable tread compound for increased stability and resistance to chunking and separation. It also adds counterbalancing weight to skid loader machines. Its double sidewall is designed to improve stability and reduces bounce, while the step-down, self-cleaning tread helps increase traction. A reinforced rim guard improves tyre and wheel protection which in turn helps to extend rim life.
The M9000 MT Loader is designed for use on heavyweight forklift trucks, on which the company says it provides an excellent “reliability and value solution”. Its extra-thick sidewall improves puncture resistance, while it also has a rim guard to protect tyre and wheel. Maxxis says the tread compound should help prevent downtime and increase productivity. The M9000 MT Loader is available in a range of sizes from 10-16.5 8 PR to 15-19.5 12 PR.
