Kumho expands football sponsorship with Germany’s HSV
Manchester United sponsor Kumho Tyres has extended its European football activities by signing on as an exclusive partner to German club Hamburger SV. The Hamburg-based team, which is currently ranked seventh in Germany’s premier Bundesliga championship, welcomes Kumho as sponsor starting in the 2011/12 season. As part of the two-year contract between Kumho and HSV, the tyre maker’s advertisements will be displayed in the stadium and in other relevant media, including at press conferences, on game entry tickets, official teams photos and on the HSV website.
“We look forward to being the top sponsor for the Hamburger SV as of the coming season, ” said Chang Joong Chung, executive managing director of Kumho Tire Europe GmbH. “With this commitment we are certain of reaching our ambitious goals in Germany. We are of course particularly proud that, with Heung-Min Son, arguably the greatest talent in Korean football is signed up to play for our new partner.”
“We are proud to have inspired Kumho Tire Inc. to become an international partner and a top brand for the HSV,” commented HSV marketing and communication manager Joachim Hilke. “Once again this shows the Bundesliga is not just held in high esteem within Germany. With Heung-Min Son as a drawcard the HSV will in future reach even further into Asia.”
