Heuver Tyrewholesale celebrates 45 birthday
On May 1 Heuver Tyrewholesale celebrated 45 years in the business. Mans Heuver established his regional tyre business in the Netherlands as a ‘one-man band’ in 1966 and the company has grown to employ 230 people. For the last two decades Heuver has operating internationally and in recent months has placed greater emphasis on the UK market, yet the wholesaler says it has by no means reached the limits of its ambitions. In this 45th anniversary year, Heuver says it still has a host of plans for the Netherlands and international markets.
“We have grown steadily ever since our company was founded. Now, as we celebrate 45 years, we are bigger than ever and are at the centre of a strong international playing field,” said Bertus Heuver, managing director of Heuver Tyrewholesale. “Things have developed particularly rapidly since the start of the century, with the exclusive importation of Aeolus truck tyres in ten European countries in 2004, followed in 2007 by their OTR tyres. There was also the move to the current site in Hardenberg in 2006. There we started with a 12,000 square metre distribution centre, which we doubled to 24,000 square metres in 2009. We have enough up our sleeve to further strengthen our international position. And nationally we now have 15 Profile Tyrecenters, where we can offer both business and private customers a full range of services.
“If you look back, the growth has been very steady ever since my father started the firm,” Heuver continued. “It’s amazing what his one-man business has grown into. My brother Jan and I took over the reins a few years ago, and have developed the business further in line with the vision, standards and values of our father Mans. The focus is still on a personal touch and being a partner in business. It’s a shame that he isn’t here to celebrate this anniversary.”
In addition to its wholesale business, which specialises in truck, trailer, OTR, industrial tyres and agricultural tyres, today Heuver Tyrewholesale also operates eleven Profile Tyrecenter centres, which cater for both commercial customers and the general public.
