Haweka introduces new version, renames TA20 commercial aligner
Haweka has announced the introduction of the Axis200, the new name for the latest version of Haweka's long-established TA20 commercial vehicle laser wheel alignment system. The Axis range consists of five models – the Axis10 for cars, Axis50 for agricultural machines, Axis200 and 500 for commercial vehicles and the Axis4000 computerised camera system for commercial vehicles.
The company says the Axis200 “takes less than ten minutes to measure every angle on a truck in the as driven position accurately and there is no need to lift the vehicle.” The Axis200 can be used on twin steer, rigid, semi-trailers and buses.
Haweka notes the safety benefits offered by correct wheel alignment, while also explaining that hauliers can also reduce their running costs when a truck’s wheels are correctly aligned: tyre life is extended and fuel consumption is improved (one degree of misalignment can increase fuel consumption by 5 per cent, the company states). “Emissions are also reduced, there is less wear and tear on mechanical components, drivers report reduced fatigue and tyres are less likely to overheat,” Haweka concludes.
