Goodyear Dunlop supporting van segment with specialist range
Both Goodyear and Dunlop have been producing tyres for over 100 years and van tyres have been a major part of both brand portfolios for many years. The current Goodyear range focuses around two key products for vans; these are the Cargo G26 and Cargo Marathon.
The Cargo G26 is specifically developed for the new generation of light trucks and vans; the tyre sets new standards in its sector. The G26’s dual radius tread contour is designed to provide optimum footprint pressure distribution – an essential requirement for handling and even wear. Reported key benefits of the tyre include improved handling and resistance to aquaplaning, improved wet handling and better mileage and traction. The non-directional tyre comes in 19 sizes from 14 to 16-inches with R and T speed ratings.
The other member of the Goodyear van portfolio is the Cargo Marathon, a tyre that continues Goodyear’s long tradition of high performance light truck tyres. The non-directional Cargo Marathon was designed with a focus on comfort, traction and reduced noise. Goodyear reports that the tyre, which comes in eight 16-inch sizes, improves wet and cold weather traction, resistance to aquaplaning as well as improving dry handling.
Alongside the two offerings from Goodyear, Dunlop supports the product portfolio with its SP LT30. According to Goodyear Dunlop, the latest tyre technology is employed in the SP LT30 to enable it to deliver high performance in line with state of the art utility vehicle supporting the smaller van market. The tyre, inspired by a passenger tyre, has a tread pattern said to convey a quiet ride and remarkable mileage. Combined with very low rolling resistance and high speed performance, Goodyear Dunlop says the SPLT30 is perfect for smaller vans. A rim protector is built into the tyre to optimise it for urban utilisation.
