Lanxess establishes Middle East business
German specialty chemicals group Lanxess has founded a dedicated company for the Middle East, Lanxess Middle East GmbH. The company has its offices in Dubai and is being headed up by managing director Elie Saad, who has held a number of positions within the Lanxess group and was most recently the head of the global polymer additives business in within the company’s Functional Chemicals business unit.
Commenting on the new company’s establishment, Lanxess AG Board of Management member Werner Breuers commented “the markets of the Middle East offer Lanxess interesting prospects, both in terms of raw material supply and because of the increasing demand there for quality products. Through an increased presence we would like to more effectively evaluate and exploit this strategic potential. Dubai is an ideal location in this regard.”
Lanxess currently supplies its Middle East customers primarily with specialty chemicals, colour pigments for the construction industry and high-tech plastics and rubbers.
