Hungarian Bandag franchisee ‘strengthens’ Bridgestone’s fleet package
On 14th April the new Hungarian Bandag franchise dealership, 5-Let Ltd., inaugurated its new retreading facility. Established with an investment of 2 million euros, the plant in the town of Mezőszilas began production on March 30 and is expected to produce 2,500 retreads this year; this number should double by 2013.
Among the nearly 100 guests invited to the opening ceremony in Mezőszilas were representatives of the Hungarian government and Akihito Ishii, director Truck, Bus & Retread Bridgestone Europe. Representatives of national and local media, officials from local organisations in Mezőszilas, and managing directors of neighbouring companies also attended the event.
5-Let is a 100 per cent Hungarian owned company that has been involved in green energy solutions, mainly geothermal energy, since 1996. In announcing the plant’s opening, Bridgestone Europe comments that 5-Let’s expansion into retreading represents a “new step forward” in the Hungarian firm’s commitment towards the environment. As a Bandag franchise, 5-Let has access to the full range of Bandag and Bridgestone retreads, and Bridgestone adds the addition of this latest Bandag dealer “strengthens” its fleet package in Hungary.
