East Bay Tire Co celebrates anniversary
East Bay Tire Co celebrated the company’s 65-year anniversary at the end of March. East Bay Tire representatives report that the company has spent four generations servicing the West Coast of the US and Hawaii.
East Bay Tire was founded by Grandfather Joe Fuetsch in Oakland, Califronia in 1946. After many years in Oakland they moved to Fairfield, California where the headquarters of the company is currently located. With other “whole” and “commercial” locations throughout California (Fresno, Sacramento, Benicia, Pittsburg, Fairfield, and Milpitas) and Hawaii, they are currently owned by brothers George and Joe M. Pehanick. This past January George’s son Joe J. Pehanick became the fourth generation of Pehanick’s to work at East Bay Tire.
For four generation Douglas Neves has been calling on East Bay Tire Co. In the late 70s Douglas started as a salesman for General Tires to East Bay Tire Co. and is now servicing them as the national manager for Continental/General OEM Truck Tire division. He has worked hand and hand with all the family members of East Bay Tire Co to build a strong bond and brand with Continental / General Tires that continues today.
The company continues to grow, adding new product lines which include The Dawg Pound line of specialty tyres and agricultural tyre lines Farm Dawg and Turf Dawg.
