Courier achieves 350,000+ miles with Michelin Agilis
Michelin reports that a pair of Agilis van tyres fitted to a vehicle owned by Cumbria-based courier Bryan Davidson have clocked up an impressive 353,000 miles – enough to have taken the van more than 14 times around the world. The 215/75 R 16C Agilis tyres were shipped as an original equipment fitment on the rear axle of Davidson’s 2004 Citroen Relay LWB Hi-Roof van from new and have just been changed – with the odometer reading 353,000 miles. The front tyres lasted around 120,000 miles.
Davidson’s light haulage business involves transporting loads of up to one tonne around the UK and Europe. Commenting on the tyres’ performance, he said: “I am amazed by the mileage achieved and there was actually still a reasonable amount of tread-life left in the tyres. The only reason I changed them was that I got a puncture in the left rear and decided to change the pair for peace-of-mind. Obviously I replaced them with another pair of Agilis tyres which were fitted by my local distributor, Denton Tyres in Carlisle.”
The Michelin Agilis range includes various sizes to suit the majority of vans on the road and it includes the Agilis Alpin winter version. Most of the range is ‘GREEN X’ marked, meaning they employ Michelin’s low rolling resistance technologies.
