Titan introduces Goodyear Optitrac R+
Titan International’s acquisition of Goodyear’s European and Latin American agricultural tyre business has given the US tyre maker access to agricultural products designed at the Goodyear Innovation Center in Colmar Berg, Luxembourg – including the Goodyear Optitrac R+. In March 2011 Titan Goodyear Farm Tires announced its introduction of a tyre that has proven popular with European farmers during the past five years.
“We designed the Optitrac R+ with performance in mind,” said Jeff Vasichek, vice president of sales and marketing for Titan Tire Corporation. “Borrowing technology from Goodyear’s aircraft tyres, the new materials and the new bead design used in its construction make for a strong-carcass tyre ideal for use with today’s high-powered tractors.”
Titan Goodyear Farm Tires has released the Optitrac R+ in five sizes – 600/70R30, 620/75R30, 650/85R38, 710/70R42 and 710/75R42 – and notes that the tyre’s high aspect ratios allow it to carry a 23 per cent heavier load than the standard R-1W at the same inflation. Similarly, the Optitrac R+ can operate at a pressure 6 psi lower than that of the R-1W when carrying a load equal to the second tyre’s maximum.
