Nokian receives recommendations in German tyre tests
Several of Finnish tyre manufacturer Nokian’s tyres have been awarded recommendations by German tyre testers including the ADAC and Stiftung Warentest. The Nokian V received a “good” rating from the German Automobile Association, ADAC on the back of strong balance, with “good in all safety relevant disciplines, top mark in the wet”. Nokian says the V was also “recommended” after 2011 tests by the European Automobile Association ACE/GTÜ, Öko-Trend.
The tyre was tested in the wet and dry, alongside fuel consumption, and wear assessments. It also achieved “very good” wet handling and dry braking marks and a “good” wet road assessment in Stiftung Warentest’s 2011 tyre test. The consumer protection magazine test recommended the Nokian V having tested 16 tyres sized 195/65 R15 for compact and middle-class cars.
Elsewhere, German car magazine Auto Zeitung said the Nokian Z G2 was “very recommendable”: “the Nokian Z G2 establishes itself as a forgiving summer tyre without any noteworthy weaknesses, especially in combination with Audi A3 Sportback.” Auto Zeitung added that “the tyre shows no real weaknesses in the dry.” The test result “good” was achieved by Nokian H in the recent German Volkswagen and Audi magazine, Gute Fahrt test: “in the H version, the Finnish tyre shows good rolling resistance… [It allows] constant and safe driving… It is stable in the dry and top with braking.”
