Michelin introduces XZR

Michelin North America has released a new tyre suitable for applications such as materials handling and airport ground support vehicles. Called the XZR, the new tyre is one the manufacturer says “provides increased operator comfort, speed capability and traction compared to the current Michelin offering for these applications.”

“Our customers need a tyre in these applications that lowers their total cost of ownership,” said Roger Lucas, vice president of sales and marketing, Michelin Earthmover and Industrial Tires. “The XZR meets that need with its robust casing and tread features, providing long life and damage protection to keep the equipment up and running.”

The XZR’s radial construction and tread pattern plus the choice of compound used work together to create a tyre engineered for cooler running, Michelin comments. The tyre accommodates speeds of up to 31 mph (50km/h). The XZR is suitable for year-round use and is available in two sizes: 6.00R9 and 7.00R12.
