BEN appoints new head of marketing
Automotive industry charity BEN has appointed Ray Diggins as its new head of marketing. Diggins has spent 30 years in the industry, with the last 20 as group marketing manager for two of the UK's largest motor groups. BEN says this appointment is “central to BEN's awareness-raising strategy” – Diggins’ primary focus will be on increasing the charity's visibility throughout the automotive and related industries and heightening understanding of the scope and scale of its work. He joined the team on 8 March and will be based at the charity's headquarters in Sunninghill, Ascot.
Commenting on Ray’s appointment, chief executive David Main said: “Our vision is for an industry in which everyone in need receives BEN’s care. To achieve this everybody in our automotive community needs to know that BEN exists to support them and really understands the breadth of circumstances in which we can offer help. With over 830,000 people currently working in the automotive sector this is a huge challenge. Ray’s knowledge of, and commitment to, the industry will be a great asset in implementing our strategy.”
Speaking about his new role Diggins said, “I’ve always considered myself fortunate to have spent almost my entire career in roles which have allowed me to combine my two great passions, marketing and the automotive industry. I’m just thrilled now to have this opportunity to place my experience at the service of BEN and thereby of the industry which it serves so well and to which I owe so much.”
