Porsche drivers win N-spec Pilot Sport PS2 tyres in Michelin promo
Porsche fanatics David and Veronica Teer from Bodmin, Cornwall have won a set of Michelin’s N-specification Pilot Sport PS2 tyres for their Porsche 996 Carrera 2 Coupe, having entered a Michelin promotional competition run in collaboration with Porsche Centres. The competition required entrants to identify the N-marking Michelin puts on the sidewall of tyres designed specifically for Porsche.
Having been selected at random, the Teers spent an evening of luxury at a Stoke-on-Trent hotel before travelling to the Michelin offices the next morning to collect their prize and have them fitted. While their tyres were being fitted, overseen by Michelin’s technical & product marketing manager Steve Dolby, the couple had a tour of the Michelin facility.
Commenting after their prize presentation, the day was summed up by the winners: “After years of experience, we have discovered that you don’t fit cheap tyres to get Porsche-levels of performance. Safety and technology are important to us and we know you get this from a premium tyre brand like Michelin. We are looking forward to many happy miles on our new tyres and making good use of their great handling characteristics, safety performance and proven longevity.”
Working closely with Porsche, Michelin has developed an extensive range of N-specification tyres specifically designed for Porsche cars including the Pilot Sport PS2 road tyre, Pilot Sport Cup road-legal track tyre and the Pilot Alpin winter tyre.
