National chooses Klarius type-approved exhausts for restock programme

National Tyres and Autocare has opted to re-stock its 210 retail branches exclusively with Klarius type-approved exhausts made in the UK, according to the exhaust maker. National will also be stocking Klarius replacement CATs, Lambda sensors and Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs).

Tony Neill, National CEO explained the decision: “Firstly the weight of evidence showing how a type-approved product is superior to a non-type approved exhaust was overwhelming, hence we wanted a type approved supplier. Fully type approved exhaust systems can provide a 3 per cent fuel saving, higher performance retention in older cars and a huge reduction in environmental impact due to lower emissions. When we learned that all Klarius exhausts are type approved, are manufactured and stocked in the UK, and come with a guarantee, we knew we had the right product to take to the market”.

A new range of products and a complete restocking process in all 200 plus National branches and service centres has reportedly now been completed. Working together to manage stocks, Klarius has developed hundreds of parts in advance of other manufacturers. As a result National is said to have “a real advantage over other fast-fit chains that are carrying older stock.”

Over 185 branches will receive a service level or five deliveries per day so parts can be delivered on-demand, allowing service centres to fit parts to customer vehicles same-day. Exhausts have always been a core product for National, and now Klarius is delivering direct to branches, there is an opportunity to make this an even more competitive product line.

According to a Klarius statement, National plans to open 15 new branches this year.
