Metzeler launches ‘ride experience’ online

Bike tyre manufacturer Metzeler has launched a new interactive blogging website with stories, images and videos contributed by a diverse line-up of its racers and adventurers. Ridexperience.com has reports from multi World Enduro Champion David Knight, trials legend Dougie Lampkin, Metzeler Superstock Champion Jon Kirkham, around the World explorer Tiffany Coates and stunt girl team ‘Stunt Starz’ amongst others. Since their launch in 2007, Metzeler says its community websites have “grown in numbers and gathered momentum all over the world”.

The UK Ride Experience website follows on from similar concepts in Italy, Spain, Germany and France. The idea of the site is to create a community of riders and provide bikers with information, space for online debate and the ability to exchange views and tips on anything motorcycle related.

In other site features, Metzeler Racing manager Jason Griffiths assesses his assembled racers for both tarmac and dirt for the year ahead and you can see a video of the awesome yet brutal Hells Gate Enduro. Throughout 2011 the site will be continually updated with regular features on British Superstock, Enduro, Adventure and news on Metzeler related products as well as exclusive competitions and prizes. Metzeler has also embraced social networking, with a Facebook page and a Twitter feed.

As well as being a source of online information, the Ride Experience website will also offer members of the Metzeler community the chance to share favourite routes through Metzeler Maps. This online application allows riders from across the world to search and upload their favourite riding routes as well as sharing them with other bikers.
