French firm continues developing TPMS technologies
LDL Technology is a privately owned company, specialising in development, manufacturing and marketing worldwide of wireless embedded electronic systems. According to company literature, the firm’s core technologies include Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), Vehicle Immobilization (IMMO), Keyless Entry & Start system (KESS) and body control units.
LDL’s product list consists of car and motorbike aftermarket systems, motorsport pressure monitoring equipment plus a truck tyre monitoring system. The latter has a heavily business to business marketing emphasis, focussing on the technical, economical and ecological benefits of maintaining proper tyre pressures. LDL’s promotional material for example quotes Pirelli statistics that show wheel assemblies lose air pressure normally at 0.5 bar every three months (7.6psi/month) due to several factors but mainly due the simple fact a tyre wheel assembly/valve are permeable devices. Another statistic points out that 26 per cent of all truck breakdowns are tyre related and the majority of these are caused by running tyres under pressure. Elsewhere data shows that as many as 60 per cent of tyres currently running on the road are driving on underinflated tyres – all of which points to the need for a decent TPMS.
LDL Technology is an ISO 9001 certified innovative company headquartered in Toulouse, France. The company has employees based in France, Japan, and USA. The company’s management team is made up of Philippe Lefaure, CEO and president; Olivier Dobigeon, COO; Takeo Kotajima, vice president sales and marketing Asia; and Stephen Crowell, vice president sales and marketing North America.
