Firestone OE on new Dodge muscle models
The 2011 versions of two iconic US muscle car models are to be fitted with the Firestone Firehawk GT as optional original equipment, reports Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO). The V-rated all-season Firehawk GT will be supplied in size 245/45R20 99V on the all-new Dodge performance flagship saloon, the 2011 Dodge Charger plus the 2011 Dodge Challenger muscle car.
“The Charger and Challenger are icons of motorsport culture, known for their incredible performances both on the road and on the silver screen,” commented Michael Martini, president, Original Equipment, US and Canada Consumer Tire Sales Division, BATO. “The Firestone brand has its own iconic status when it comes to on-road performances in America and linking these brands together is very exciting for us. In pairing the Firestone Firehawk GT’s sporty performance and all season capability with these all-new muscle cars, we may have several new motorsport legends in the making.”
The Firehawk GT is included as original equipment on the all-new 2011 Dodge Charger with R/T Plus, R/T Road & Track, R/T Max packages and Wheels & Tunes and Rallye Appearance Groups. The same tyre is offered as original equipment on the 2011 Dodge Challenger SE with the all-new Super Sport Group and available on Challenger R/T models.
