Desser moving to regional aircraft retreading, reports overseas expansion plans
Desser Tire & Rubber Co. affiliate, Aero WBS has achieved the qualification for retreading Canadair 200, 700, 900 series and Embraer 135 and 145 series aircraft tyres, as well as forming an investigative committee for opening a FAA/EASA approved factory outside of the United States.
“We are pleased to be able to offer our retreading services for the complete family of Canadair and Embraer series of Regional Aircraft,” according to Steven Chlavin the company’s president. “This makes us only the second approved source outside of the OEM to retread the complete range of aircraft. These aircraft fitments go nicely with our plans to double capacity and offerings in 2011. With our increasing book of clients outside of the United States and the recent large increase in new tyre prices, we find it prudent to investigate expansion opportunities in several key markets overseas.”
Desser/Aero WBS is one of only two privately held high speed aircraft tyre retreaders in the United States. The company holds FAA and EASA approvals for high speed aircraft tyre retreading and wheel and brake services. Desser retreads over 20,000 tyres per year, is a leading distributor of new aircraft tyres and is an OEM aircraft tyre and tube manufacturer. According to company literature, Desser does business in over 100 countries.
