Avon kicks off 2011 bike season at Expo
Avon Tyres reports a successful three days at the Birmingham based Motorcycle Expo in late January. In a press release regarding the event, the tyre maker comments that in spite of a “tough” outlook for the UK motorcycle industry, Avon Tyres is enjoying a period of strong sales and is looking forward to a positive 2011.
“Despite the winter being the worst for 30 years, the new UK motorcycle season kicked off with some anticipation at the 2011 Motorcycle Trade Expo,” commented Avon Tyres’ global motorcycle sales manager Graham Matcham. “We were very pleased to meet with many dealers both old and new to discuss working with us in many ways and especially in jointly promoting Avon Tyres’ 100 years of motorcycle business. This year’s Centenary represents a perfect opportunity to help draw more customers into their shops.”
During the three-day event Avon Tyres’ staff discussed its 2011 motorcycle range with dealers and provided copies of the new 2011 Data Book and Fitment Guide. The stand was also dominated by the Avon Tyres Centenary celebration machine – a new black and gold Yamaha YZF-R6, emblazoned with the Centenary Logo and fitted with a series of stunning additions to its standard specifications. This machine will be seen around the UK at a number of events which will mark the firm’s 100 years of motorcycle tyre manufacture.
