500th roadside tyre technician trained by Bridgestone UK
Lodge Tyres technician John Lane, based at the firm’s Walsall branch, recently became the 500th technician to attend and pass the Vehicle Roadside Technician training provided by Bridgestone UK Ltd, training department.
Phil Thirsk, training manager at Bridgestone commented: “Our training courses are written to provide tyre service provider’s and their technicians with the skill’s and knowledge they need to carry out their job’s, the Roadside Technician course is accredited with the Institute of Vehicle Recovery (IVR) who are the administrators for the National Roadside Training Scheme. Roadside working is fraught with danger with high numbers of vehicles travelling on the motorway network, a technician must be correctly trained to deal with any eventuality, providing customer care to the driver of the broken down vehicle, whilst also looking after their own welfare”.
