Trelleborg moves North American office
Trelleborg Wheel Systems Americas Inc has moved its North American corporate offices in Ohio about 25 miles (40 km) to Fairlawn from Hartville. “We are very pleased with our new location for the business’s industrial and agricultural tyre divisions,” says Ydo Doornbos, managing director. “The city of Fairlawn has been very welcoming.” The Hartville location will remain as a satellite distribution centre. The main Ohio distribution centre is located in Akron, Ohio.
Trelleborg Wheel Systems – established in 1991 by the Swedish engineering group Trelleborg AB – is currently undergoing a variety of activities within its global divisions. On 24 November, the business area moved to strengthen its industrial tyre segment in agreeing to acquire the Watts Tyre Group of Lydney, England for around $33.1 million. The deal is expected to close during 2011’s first quarter.
Tyres & Accessories features TWS UK in its January edition; recently appointed managing director John Westwood said that the company would “change the focus [of the business]… from products to solutions”, ultimately meaning the establishment of a dealer network in the UK.
TWS says it plans to exhibit its industrial tyre capabilities during Deutsche Messe AG’s 2011 CeMAT intralogistics trade fair from 2-6 May in Hannover, Germany.
