Maxxis to Exhibit ZR9 at Autosport International Show
The Autosport International Show will take place this year on 13-16 January, and tyre manufacturer Maxxis International is preparing a new tyre UK launch, a presentation of its sports sponsorship and the unveiling of its new corporate website. The “2-in-1” Maxxis 2011 calendar and a new mobile phone app will comprise the promotional materials on show, while the ever-present Maxxis Babes will meet visitors to the show, pose for photographs and give away Maxxis merchandise. The Autosport Show is clearly an important event for Maxxis, giving the brand increasing its visibility in the aftermarket, and allowing it to communicate with the motorsport enthusiasts the show tends to attract.
Maxxis says it will display its range on vehicles, including a Caterham 7, which will be fitted with the new Maxxis ZR9 tyre. The ZR9 is an ultra high performance radial specifically designed for asphalt track racing and makes its UK debut at AutoSport International. The tyre features a directional tread pattern design with low void ratio for improved handling, large shoulder blocks for cornering and lateral stability, and central V-shaped grooves for efficient water dispersal, increasing wet traction. The tyre’s “advanced racing compound” completes a product designed for racing.
Available in almost 50 sizes up to 285/30 ZR20, the top-selling Maxxis MA-Z1 high performance tyre will be shown on both a Ferrari Scuderia 430 and a KTM XPO, while Maxxis will highlights its two-wheel product, the Supermaxx Sport tyre, on a road-going version of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Superbike. The race specification machine was used last season by the Maxxis-sponsored official Kawasaki UK British Superbike team, MSS Colchester Kawasaki. The brand will promote its full range of motocross tyres with both a product display and a motocross bike, as used by the Maxxis Henderson Insurance LPE Kawasaki team during the 2010 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, of which Maxxis has been title sponsor since 2002.
Maxxis has chosen Autosport International to launch to the general public its new corporate website, which it says offers easier access to more product and company information. The new design incorporates more images and video, a new content management system and enhanced navigation. Maxxis says visitors will be able to access the latest tyre data, retailer contacts and details on Maxxis-sponsored teams and drivers, follow the schedule of performance shows/events and keep track of where the Maxxis Babes will be heading next.
The new Maxxis app – developed for Apple, Android and Blackberry devices – will enable users to choose the correct Maxxis tyre and locate their nearest Maxxis retailer. It will also include the latest news about the Maxxis Babes, Maxxis-sponsored sports events, teams and drivers and its calendar of performance/tuning shows on their phones.
The calendar comprises a showcase of Maxxis’ sports sponsorship and a Maxxis Babes calendar, and is being officially unveiled to the general public at AutoSport International. The Maxxis Sporting Year 2011 features a montage of action shots which reinforce Maxxis International’s worldwide sports credentials, underlining how it partners with international events, teams and individuals at the very top of their sport, while the Maxxis Babes calendar for 2011 depicts the girls in a series of burlesque pin-up poses. In response to what the company says was popular demand, Maxxis plans to offer a selection of pages from both calendars as free desktop wallpaper downloads.
