Maxxis Geared Up for AutoSport International
The AutoSport International show gets underway tomorrow and runs until January 16, and Maxxis reports it is ready and waiting and will launch its new ZR9 UHP tyre during the Birmingham show. It will also use the opportunity to showcase several key Maxxis products for different market sectors and to launch its new hospitality unit and launch the new maxxis.co.uk website, 2011 calendar and mobile phone app to the general public.
Visitors will see the ZR9 fitted to a Caterham 7, while the Maxxis MA-Z1 will be shown on a Ferrari Scuderia 430 and a KTM XPO. For bike fans the Supermaxx Sport, fitted to a road-going version of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Superbike – the race specification machine was used last season by the Maxxis-sponsored official Kawasaki UK British Superbike team, MSS Colchester Kawasaki – is sure to be a highlight. A full product display and a motocross bike as used by the Maxxis Henderson Insurance LPE Kawasaki team during the 2010 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship will round out the company’s motorcycle sector presence at the show.
Maxxis is highlighting its sports sponsorship activities for the 2011 season, including its increased support of British drifting, and visitors to the stand (Hall 20, Stand 2250) can view short films of the 2010 Maxxis British Drift Championship. There is also a prize draw to win a VIP trip for two to the Silverstone round of the 2011 BDC, including a passenger drift ride and an exclusive ‘behind the scenes experience’ with Team Japspeed.
As previously mentioned, Maxxis is showing off its new hospitality unit to the public, and the company is sure this feature will, with its brand new livery for 2011, be particularly striking feature of the Maxxis stand. The latest unit will tour the country this summer, acting as a landmark at rounds of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, the Maxxis British Drift Championship, the British Superbikes Championship and a host of performance/styling/tuning events. At AutoSport International Maxxis will use the upstairs area of the unit to provide VIP hospitality.
The show also marks the public debut of the new Maxxis UK website, which has a new look, more images and video and, Maxxis adds, thanks to improved content management and navigation, offers easier access to product and company information. The site also features the Maxxis 2011 calendar; this comprises a corporate calendar showcasing Maxxis and its international sports sponsorship and a burlesque-themed Maxxis Babes calendar.
Visitors will also be able to find out more about the new mobile phone app, which not only enables users to research tyres and locate their nearest Maxxis retailer, but also allows them to receive alerts about the Maxxis Babes, Maxxis-sponsored sports activities and shows on their phones.
Good news for Maxxis Babes fans is that the lovely ladies will be present at the Maxxis stand throughout AutoSport International, meeting and greeting fans, posing for photographs and handing out giveaways.
