Jorge Crespo New Infinity Europe General Manager
Infinity Tyres Europe Ltd has appointed Jorge Crespo as the company’s new European general manager. Crespo joins Infinity following nine years at Cooper Tire Europe where, as sales and marketing director, he was a board member. Prior to joining the Cooper Avon operation in Melksham, Crespo worked in the rubber compounding industry. However, having trained as a solicitor before entering the business world, he also brings a level of legal awareness into his new management position. Crespo took up his new role on 4 January.
During a series of introductory meetings at the beginning of January the new general manager found time to stop by at Tyres & Accessories’ Stoke editorial offices, where he commented that he is looking forward to refreshing the company’s marketing position and implementing strategies for long term growth.
Infinity reported record sales during 2010, having reportedly beaten its target for the year by the end of the third quarter. More Infinity sales barriers were broken when in December the company reported its best ever month. According to the company, the upturn in sales at the end of the year was reportedly cause by a combination of factors including general lack supply in the wider market and strong demand for winter tyre products.
In his new role as Infinity Europe general manager Jorge Crespo takes over from Martin West, who left in April 2010. Martin West has since become managing director of Sailun Tyres (Europe).
