TyreSafe Roadshow to Highlight the Challenges of Illegal Tyres
Early next year TyreSafe will set its first ever industry roadshow in motion. Solihull has been chosen as the location where the event, hosted by Quentin Willson, will get underway on January 26. The British motoring authority, who has at different times presented both Top Gear and Fifth Gear, has been charged with delivering insights into the challenges the UK continues to face from defective and illegal tyres. During the roadshow TyreSafe will outline its ongoing plans to tackle the key issues linked with this problem and highlight how companies from a wide range of sectors can get involved and help save lives.
“TyreSafe has achieved an incredible amount in its short history but we need the support of other companies and industry sectors to reduce accident rates even further,” explains TyreSafe chairman Stuart Jackson. “This event will gives companies an opportunity to understand what we do and how, with their help, we can save even more lives from tyre related accidents.”
As well as hearing from Quentin Willson and TyreSafe, attendees at the roadshow will learn about the devastating consequences of neglected tyres from forensic vehicle examiner for Cumbria Police, Shaun McKeown, one of TyreSafe’s recent ‘wheel heroes’. Tim Peacock, group product manager for the Volkswagen Group (UK) will also outline how the VW group has benefitted from its membership in the not-for-profit tyre safety organisation.
Professionals from all related industry sectors are invited to attend the event however TyreSafe states it is particularly interested in those from insurance companies, fleets, car rental, breakdown services, petrol retailers and other vehicle manufacturers. The January 26 event will commence at 10.30am and will be followed by a buffet lunch. Attendance is free and places can be reserved by contacting Christine Joyce on 01787 226995.
