Sailun Hosts ITMA at Euro HQ
Having recently joined the Imported Tyre Manufacturers Association, Sailun Tyres was pleased to host the latest meeting at their European Headquarters in Birmingham. Welcoming ITMA president David Seward (managing director, Yokohama) and fellow Association members, Martin West (European managing director of Sailun Tyres) commented: “ITMA is recognised as one of the leading body of International tyre manufacturers and plays a pivotal role in representing our interests at all levels. Sailun Tyres recognise the benefits of joining such a group and are delighted to be able to host this meeting.”
The meeting covered a wide range of topical issues including wet grip tyre testing, PAH compliance and tyre labelling. Sailun claim to be “the first tyre manufacturer to integrate production, research and demonstration techniques in their manufacturing processes”. West was keen to reinforce the Sailun brand position, stating: “In the current and future tyre market, the existence of a high quality, great value brand is highly sought after. The Sailun brand can offer these key attributes to potential distribution partners.”
ITMA aims to: provide a forum for the discussion of matters of common interest, both technical and commercial; disseminate and collect information of mutual and public interest; organise trade and governmental contacts beneficial to its members’ businesses; act collectively in the interests of the tyre industry and of the consumer; and seek to promote and advance the interests of a healthy and successful British tyre industry.
