Hofmann Megaplan Gives Away Changer, Moves, Fits Winter Tyres
Hofmann Megaplan has given away one of its megamount Smart lever-less tyre changers to Mill Tyres of Boston, Lincolnshire, the latter having won the company’s Brityrex 2010 prize-draw. The Smart can handle rims up to 30” in diameter, and is specifically targeted at “tough rim and tyre combinations”, including runflats, according to Hofmann Megaplan.
The prize-draw kicked off a busy Autumn season for the company, distributor of megamount brand tyre changers and megaspin brand wheel balancers. Hofmann Megaplan officially moved offices in November, remaining on the Brook Farm business park near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, but occupying a converted grain barn with its demonstration area on the open-plan ground floor and its purpose-built offices above. The company also stated that work had begun on its new warehouse, which will help to increase Hofmann Megaplan’s storage space to 12,000 sq ft.
The full service provided by garage equipment distributors is increasingly important, as is the ability to deliver on agreements made with customers. This seems to be more the case now than ever, with companies in the sector continually selling the potential revenue benefits of installing the latest, quickest machines; it undercuts the argument somewhat if an installer or engineer cannot get the machinery running in a timely fashion. Hofmann Megaplan says it is using winter tyres on its vehicles this season to help make sure it can travel to customers’ sites in the poor weather.
The company exemplified its commitment to service on the company’s blog at the beginning of December: “We have covered the depth and breadth of the country today without so much as a hiccup; in fact the ever-reliable Lee has made it to Scotland, via a job in Cumbria, having left at 5am this morning, and will install three of our megamount 701XL’s up as far as Aberdeen before the week is out.”
Back at Brityrex, Hofmann Megaplan’s stand hosted a large, open demonstration area from which it was able to sell some of its equipment as ex-demonstration. Kingshurst Automotive of Birmingham had its range-topping megaspin 800-2P Super Automatic Wheel Balancer installed en route back from the show, while its three tyre changers, two other balancers, and the megalift 3200 two post lift also going to visitor’s premises.
