Treadsetters Finalists in HSBC Business Thinking Competition
Telford-based tyre wholesale operation Treadsetters has beaten over 1600 other business to the finals of HSBC’s business thinking awards. The company, which earlier saw off strong competition to win its regional heat is now in line to win up to £5 million in lending and a financial reward of up to £100,000. Now, Treadsetters and just 17 other companies are vying for the title of overall winner of Business Thinking 2010 at the prestigious “International Insights” event in Hong Kong, which managing director Tim Davies is attending on 5 December.
Treadsetters, which was founded roughly 10 years ago distributes tyres around the globe with North Africa, Brazil and Australia amongst some of its fastest growing markets. Commenting on the results Tim Davies explained how this success will support the company’s development plans:
“We’ve always had a dream to own our own tyre brand, and the funding we’ve secured will allow us to achieve that. A new brand will open up some of the biggest marketplaces in the world. Without this competition, we probably could have got there eventually but now we can get there a lot quicker. Winning Business Thinking will allow us to push forward with our brand and taken the business to the next level.”
