Euro Car Parts Customer Praises 'Uplifting' Service
Leyton Service Centre, a successful garage for over 10 years recently decided to utilise the space in its garage more efficiently by installing a Class VII Tecalemit MoT bay and a Visualiner 3D Lite UK-Lift version 3D car Wheel Aligner from Euro Garage Solutions (EGS).
MOT testing stations in the UK now have the choice to opt for automatic test lanes (ATLs) to greatly enhance the testing procedure and reduce the labour burden, as only one person is required to complete the MOT test. Owner Bill Butt’s aim is to generate more business by working more efficiently. In addition by opting for a Class VII with its long platform and 5 and a half-metre lift the garage can now cater for the LCV market.
He also wanted the latest equipment to accurately measure wheel alignment and knew the John Bean 3D Alignment was the answer. With motorists becoming more aware that wheel alignment is an important check on a car he was looking for the solution to provide accurate results. Bill Butt wanted Leyton to move with the times and ensure they invest in the business future with quality equipment.
Butt commented: “ECP not only gave me the most competitive quote, let me pay in instalments over a few months but also gave the best demonstration of the products with complete support from start to finish. This included the layout, application to VOSA, attending the garage every time VOSA visited, two-stage onsite training to all staff followed up with a very helpful after service and I am still in regular contact with EGS.
“In just a couple of weeks of ordering the state of the art MOT and wheel alignment equipment, I had it installed, staff trained and it was up and running. By the end of the year I expect both pieces of equipment will have paid for themselves and I will be making profit from my investment.
Donna West, director of communications at ECP commented: “We aim to make it easy for customers to find out about finance and get questions answered. Our new website includes news and events where EGS will be holding unique seminars on products and demos. Software updates are also included for customer’s convenience.
“With Leyton Service Centre they are looking at investing for the future and are looking for better value quality products with higher return on investment. With our nationwide network of specialist professionals, we can offer not only great prices, but also great value for money. Customers are now demanding exceptional service on capital equipment investments and we are able to offer possibly the best service in the business with EGS and the EGS website.”
The ATL test bay includes an automated brake tester and axle play detector. The brake tester is PC based, using menu driven software to automatically start the rollers once the vehicle has driven on to them. Both wheels on each axle are tested at the same time and as the roller set incorporates an axle weighing system to enable automatic calculations of the braking efficiency. The automated axle play detectors are incorporated into the lift and operated by one person using a hand held control device, which removes the need for an assistant to rock the steering or suspension systems.
The Visualiner 3D provides accurate alignment, measurement, complete with visual representation identifying current and optimal settings. This represents 70 per cent reduction in time versus conventional alignment methods. It is the only alignment technology approve by car manufacturers.
