Van Service Award a 2010 Hat-Trick for Kwik-Fit Fleet
A concerted focus on helping businesses reduce operating costs and improve efficiency has helped Kwik-Fit Fleet secure a third award for 2010, this time from industry publication Fleet Van. At the Fleet Van Awards 2010 ceremony, held in London on October 6, the fast-fit provider was confirmed as this year’s Van Service and Repair Company of the Year. The latest gong to come Kwik-Fit Fleet’s way joins accolades earned in the BusinessCar Awards and from LeasePlan UK earlier in the year.
One of six service company awards up for grabs, the Van Service and Repair Company of the Year award category recognises the best service or repair provider serving the fleet van market. Fleet Van describes the award as being “about the best fleet-focused support from a service and repair supplier, ranging from product development and product range to initiatives that go the extra mile and show a real commitment to this demanding market.” In presenting the award to Kwik-Fit Fleet, Stephen Briers, the publication’s editor-in-chief said: “With its seven-days-a-week servicing and repair offering, a heavy investment in training and apprentices and the introduction of many new initiatives such as vehicle health check and free tyres and safety checks that perfectly meet fleets needs, everything Kwik-Fit does helps fleets to reduce costs and improve efficiency.”
The award was presented to Kwik-Fit Fleet sales director Peter Lambert, who commented that “the Fleet Van award firmly establishes Kwik-Fit Fleet among the leaders of the fleet industry’s ‘premier division’. For many years, the company has been the number one fast-fit provider to the corporate sector but this award underlines the company’s position among the entire industry’s crème de la crème having beaten suppliers from a range of sectors to the title.
“Fleets want a fast and efficient service that is convenient for their van drivers,” Lambert added. “Our centres already offer seven-day-a-week extended hours opening and with a service typically available within 48 hours rather than the 14-day wait for some franchised dealers. This makes vehicle MoTs, servicing and repairs very attractive to fleet operators and drivers in addition to our range of traditional fast-fit services. Meanwhile, our mobile offering saves valuable time for drivers as our technicians undertake work at customers’ location of choice.
“In a challenging economic environment we expect corporate demand for our range of centre and mobile services to further increase due to a range of factors such as: the fleet focus on cost management with our menu of services, which includes manufacturer scheduled servicing. This provides businesses with direct savings when compared with franchise dealers and our seven-day a week opening policy with extended opening hours which gives flexibility to drivers.
“Van fleets want access to a range of fast and efficient services that keep vehicle downtime to a minimum and simultaneously deliver value for money. Kwik-Fit Fleet delivers on all those fronts through our comprehensive one-stop shop service portfolio,” the sales director concluded.
Since its establishment almost 24 years ago, Kwik-Fit Fleet has won a total of 72 awards – and the company believes this enviable collection of kudos is all due to a combination of delivering a range of services that corporate customers demand, a continuous investment in those services and in staff to ensure they are trained to deliver those services at the cutting edge. Other awards received in 2010, as previously mentioned, were from BusinessCar – who voted Kwik-Fit Fleet the UK’s number one fast-fit company for the 17th year in succession – and a Supplier Excellence Award from vehicle leasing and management company LeasePlan UK, a company operating a fleet containing in excess of 129,000 vehicles.
