Toyo Tires Enjoys “Successful” Goodwood Revival
Having attended Goodwood events in the past Toyo Tires has reported another “successful” year at the Goodwood Revival, at which it was the exclusive Tyre Partner for the first time. To mark the occasion, VIP Toyo customers previewed two brand new road tyres in the Proxes range, the ultra high performance Proxes T1 Sport and the Proxes C1S, tyres built for performance and ride comfort respectively. Both tyres will be made available from 2011. Toyo said that it was looking forward to continuing its deal with the event in 2011.
A popular historical motoring event, the Goodwood Revival meeting is described by Toyo as being “like going back in time”, with film-set attention to detail. Everything visitors see, including the entertainment, is as it would have been in the glory days of the circuit’s use, from the late 1940s to the mid-‘60s. No modern cars are allowed near the circuit and almost everyone who attends is dressed in the retro fashions of the era.
The nostalgic Revival experience was emphasised by a Toyo customer promotion for VIP passes to the event. These allowed visitors access to special areas including admission to the Paddocks, grandstands, and also the Richmond Lawn which has a superb view of the track’s infamous chicane, as well as the pit roof. These privileges are also shared with motorsport heroes of the past and present attending the event.
Sarah Clavey, senior marketing executive, exclaimed: “Goodwood Revival is the perfect platform to offer a great day out for our customers – it’s like no other motorsport event and celebrates new milestones in Motorsports every year. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all our guests.”
Toyo customers attending the event included Alan Baldwin, Wholesale sales director at Micheldever, who told Toyo: “Many thanks for a truly memorable weekend, we had a fantastic time, your hospitality and company was superb, the best weekend event we have ever attended, and that’s something.”
Simon and Fiona Pashley, of Selecta Tyre said: “We would like to thank all at Toyo Tires for a fabulous weekend at the Goodwood Revival which definitely lived up to its reputation. It was a truly memorable experience from start to finish and was very much appreciated.”
Also attending were David and Christine Bettley, Southern Tyre Services: “We would like to say Thank you so much for a lovely day at Goodwood. You all looked the part! We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed the lovely company. It was nice to meet you all.”
Tony and Carmen, Tyres (South Shore) said: “We thoroughly enjoyed the event with its excellent hospitality and exciting motor racing. Tony was in his element trawling the pits and looking at the beautiful old racing cars whereas I really enjoyed looking at the different outfits that people had assembled. The ‘dressing up’ element too was fun and added hugely to the enjoyment … future years’ outfits are already being given consideration in the hope that we’re able to attend the event again. The day was well planned and executed by Sarah, Suneeta and other Toyo colleagues and it was a pleasure to meet the Toyo Team who proved themselves to be considerate and convivial hosts.”
Simon Hiorns, retail director at Micheldever, Mike Radford of Challenger Tyres and Ben Bush of BA Bush and Son all attended the event too.
