TAFF Awards Innovation Award – Michelin
This year’s Innovation Award, which is decided upon by a jury of industry experts as opposed to the popular vote held for all other categories, this year saw eight entrants come from a complete cross section of the tyre industry with companies from the manufacturer/supplier (Continental, GITI and Michelin), garage equipment (Pro-Align), retail (HiQ) workshop consumables (Apaseal) and tyre recovery (Vellco Tyre Control) sectors all represented.
On the night Michelin Tyre Plc made it three prestigious award wins in a row for its X One MaxiTrailer commercial vehicle tyre. The Award follows just three months after scooping the Fleet Safety Product of the Year title and being recognised in the Motor Transport Awards in 2009.
Commenting on the win, Eric Le Corre, Michelin’s UK managing director, said: “The X One MaxiTrailer is fast establishing itself as a popular fitment amongst fleets. Its success is testament to Michelin’s focus on researching and developing new technologies which ensure better mobility. There are few products on the market which can claim to increase mileage performance by as much as 50 per cent, deliver greater robustness, improved handling and enhanced safety – but the X One MaxiTrailer delivers all this, and more.”
