Sumo Firenza Rolling Out ST-05A

Occupying a sizeable booth towards the front of the exhibition hall at Brityrex, Stamford Tyres is exhibiting its proprietary ranges of wheels – branded SSW Wheels – and UHP Sumo Firenza-branded tyres, its stand divided logically between the products. The company is particularly promoting the continued addition of new sizes for its new ST-05A pattern, with the range due to be completed in November.

The tyre features improved braking in the dry with a rigid centre rib, while in the wet its four wide grooves allow quicker water drainage. The tyre is marketed particularly on its noise reduction and comfort qualities, effects achieved through an improved pitch arrangement, a greater damping effect from the tread cap/belt system, and its tapered sipes. The tyre will, when the size expansion is finalised, cover 26 sizes between 185/55R15 and 245/45R18.

Stamford’s representatives at Brityrex told Tyres & Accessories that the company is keen to increase the synergy between its Sumo Firenza range, which also includes truck and van fitments, and its SSW wheel range. The stand’s wall of wheels, providing plenty of glamour, is produced in Thailand and can deal – similarly to high street fashion – in short runs of customised designs. And the extending list of Sumo Firenza tyre sizes means the company can offer tyres to go with them, and vice versa.
